Pulse December 23 and 30, 2018

Weekly news and events at

Huguenot United Methodist Church

December 23 and 30, 2018  (A two week special edition!)

Share a Picture

Is your home decorated for the holidays? Your church family would love to see your special trimmings – especially your Christmas tree! Please post a picture of your Christmas tree or holiday decorations on the bulletin board located across from the Sanctuary. This will be a wonderful way for us to share our family traditions as we celebrate the birth of the Christ Child.

Adult Sunday School Class

Adult Sunday School continues with the Winter 2018-2019 Adult Bible Studies series entitled “Our Love for God”. The first unit in the series is “God Commands Our Love, Respect, and Obedience”. The weekly lessons are as follows:

December 23 – Jesus: God’s Loving Promise – To consider the implications to us of Jesus being the fulfillment of God’s promise.

December 30 – Modeling God’s Love – To attest that compassion belongs in not only extraordinary circumstances, but also in our ordinary and everyday encounters.

The class meets from 10:00 a.m. to approximately 10:45 a.m. each Sunday in the classroom off the Fellowship Hall. Please come join us!

Christmas Eve Services

7:00 p.m. – Family Service

11:00 p.m. – Candlelight and Holy Communion

The Cantata, rescheduled due to the snowstorm, will be presented on Sunday, Dec. 30th. Come and be blessed as we continue to celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Our Holiday Mission

Thank you for your generous donations to our Holiday Mission. Many will be warmer this winter thanks to your contributions of hats, gloves and scarves!

Christmas Books

The Christmas books are out on display in the library and in the “branch” across from the sanctuary. Please come by and select a book for yourself, your children or your grandchildren.

Throughout the year, the library has received many books that were donated to the church. The library committee would like to thank everyone for the wonderful books that were donated. Some of the books were displayed earlier, and will be displayed after Christmas.  The United Methodist Women (UMW) have also added books to the library from the UMW Reading List. These books will be on display in January.

We thank you for your support and gifts and hope that you enjoy your library.               -Carol, Elma and Maria
