Ronald McDonald House Charities

This Sunday, November 18th, following lunch in the Fellowship Hall, we will create Activity Packets for Richmond Ronald McDonald House. These fun packets are used with the families who reside in the House while their child or children are having extended hospital stays. Our goal is to donate 250 packets to RMHC!

All items must fit into a gallon size Zip-Loc bag.  If you would like to sponsor a bag or 2 or more, please make your check payable to HUMC and  note “mission packets” in the memo section. If you wish to contribute items for the bags you may do that. There is a collection box in the hallway outside of the Fellowship Hall. These items are needed:

  • Activity/coloring books
  • Small sticker books
  • Washable markers
  • Small tubs of Play-Doh
  • Small molds or stamps for Play-Doh
  • Sticker sheets

All of these items are available from The Dollar Tree, The Dollar Store, Dollar General, etc. THANK YOU for supporting such a great local Mission project!

In addition, at noon, parents will pick up their children from the nursery for lunch. After lunch, they can bring their children back to the nursery, until the completion of the Mission Project. A small snack will be provided for them. It is not necessary to sign up ahead of time.

Mark your Calendars  (REVISED)

There will be a Finance Committee meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 11th at 6:00 p.m. in the Library followed by a Church Council meeting at 7:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall.

The Stewardship campaign has ended. All pledge cards need to be turned in as soon as possible to the church office or myself by Sunday, November 18th, 2018. Thank you for your support, timeliness and your faithful pledge.

Sincere Thanks

My sincere thanks to the folks who took the time after our worship service this past Sunday to write a “Thank You” note to Daniel Rico. As you may remember, Daniel is an activity duty service member deployed in Afghanistan. Seventeen cards were written and sent to Daniel. I know he will appreciate them. Maybe we can do something again in the future for him or another service member. Thank you!!!

-Gerry Flinchbaugh
