My Heart is Filled with Thankfulness The Choir
Leader: Let us be glad and sing for joy; let our hearts exalt in the Lord.

Let all the peoples praise you, O God;

     let all the peoples praise you.

Let the nations be glad and sing for joy;

for you judge the peoples with equity.

Let all the peoples praise you, O God;

     let all the peoples praise you.

Leader: May God, our own God, bless us.

Let all the peoples praise you, O God;

     let all the peoples praise you. Thanks be to God.

God, you are the source of our life.  Gather us together on this Thanksgiving Sunday.  Form us into a holy community of your own people. Mold us by the breath of your Spirit and fill us with your powerful love.  Amen.

Call to Confession

Since we have a great high priest, Jesus Christ, let us approach the throne of grace in full assurance of faith, for God has promised to be merciful. Trusting in the grace of God, let us now silently offer our prayers of confession to God.

Our Prayer of Common Confession

Holy and merciful God,

We confess that we have not loved you with our whole heart.

We have failed to be an obedient church.

We have not done your will,

            we have broken your law,

            we have rebelled against you love,

            we have not loved our neighbors,

            and we have hot heard the cry of the needy.

Forgive us, we pray.

Free us for joyful obedience,

through Jesus Christ our Lord.  Amen.

All offer prayers of confession in silence.

Declaration of Forgiveness

Hear the good news:

Christ died for us while we were yet sinners;

that proves God’s love toward us.

In the name of Jesus Christ, you are forgiven!

In the name of Jesus Christ, you are forgiven!

Glory be to God.  Now and Forever.  Amen.

*Affirmation of Faith    The Apostles’ Creed

I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth;

And in Jesus Christ his only Son, our Lord;
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, dead, and buried;
the third day he rose from the dead;
he ascended into heaven,
and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty;
from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen.

*The Gloria Patri

  Glory be to the Father

  and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost;

  as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be,

  world without end.  Amen.
